Bringing Grayson into this World

When the nurse came in, she had to check and make sure it was Jessica's water. As soon as she saw, their was organized chayos. About 5 nurses came in along with the Doctors, Jessica remembers asking if their was time to do an epidural, Brandon remembers running to the bathroom to throw up. The nurses told Jessica that she was going to have the baby tonight, and Jessica started crying.
They wheeled Jessica down the the operating room because of the risk to baby Grayson. The doctors checked Jessica and told her she was only dilated to a 4, but because Grayson was so small that it would be okay to start pushing at the next contraction.
Jessica's mom was down stairs on the phone with family while all of this happened , Brandon's family had just left to take the younger siblings home for the night. Brandon texted Jessica's mom telling her that their was a problem, so she ran upstairs to the room they were staying in. Brandon then called his mom to let her know she needed to get back as soon as possible and that they were going to have a baby tonight.
When the were into the OR they had to have Brandon dress in the sterile clothing and cap. They let Brandon be by Jessica's side the entire time. They told Jessica's mom that she had to stand in the hall way and a nurse would be with her soon. Across the room their was a smaller room called a NICU station for the babies. Their was about 7 nurses and 2 doctors in their waiting for the Baby to come. Soon they let Jessica's mom go in that room to wait for the arrival of her grandson and watch through the window.  Brandon's mom was still driving to get to the hospital.
The doctor had to ask a very hard question for the couple. He questioned on if they lost Graysons heart beat, did they want to do a C-section or just keep pushing. With the risks of loosing the heartbeat, the baby could obviously pass before mom is done pushing. The risk of a C-section is worse recovery and possibly having complications with other pregnancies but getting the baby out faster. Brandon and Jessica quickly decided (but knew it was the right decision) that if they lost Baby Graysons heart beat then they would just continue pushing. They knew they were going to have more kids to make Grayson a big brother, and didn't want to cause more problems in the future, in their hearts they prayed they wouldn't have to carry out this decision. The doctor also asked that Brandon go into the side room when Grayson was born to watch the doctors, and to be with Grayson. He told Brandon and Jessica that if Grayson didn't make it (which was more likely) then Brandon would come in with Grayson and the medical staff would let them have a momment with their son.
Then a contraction started, Jessica was told to push and she did. She pushed a  few times and then her water broke again for some reason, splashing the doctor and the floor. She kept pushing but nothing was happening. Grayson was stuck. The Doctor ordered some medication to start bigger contractions and to make Jessica more dilated, he also ordered her a pain medication called Fentanyl.
Jessica kept apologizing for the mess she made on the doctor, that was a sign the Fantanyl was working. Then walked in Brandon and Jessica's moms, gowned up and capped. They let the moms be in the room the entire time. The family found out from a nurse that they never let grandma's in, sometimes they even don't let the husbands/dads be in the room. That was a miracle in itself.
About 20 minutes passed by and the medication was really kicking in. Contractions were getting stronger and lasting a lot longer. Jessica had the urge to push again, but the doctors and nurses weren't ready yet. She had to wait a few seconds but it seemed like hours.  The doctor checked and they were told Jessica was dilated to a 5. She then was told she could push, after a few pushes, baby Grayson was in the world at 11:03pm, he was quickly wisked away into the tiny room next door, with Brandon on their heals.
A nurse took Brandons phone (because everyone forgot their camera's) and started taking pictures of Grayson in the NICU station. Brandon was with Grayson and  the two new grandma's were with Jessica. They finished up with Jessica, but all she could do was ask about Grayson. The nurses were comming in and out of the little room, and every time the door squeaked Jessica knew it would be Bradon. But they were just the nurses giving updates. Finally one nurse walked in and said they are taking Grayson to the NICU. Jessica was relieved, Brandon would be with their little boy and the few minutes she was expecting were turning out longer than imagined.
